According to an analysis of the 2024 budget, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has allocated a whopping N1,055,633,61 billion for local travel expenses. In addition, N113.4m has been earmarked for training related to local travels.

The commission has also assigned N389.6m for transportation costs linked to international training activities, and an additional N173.6m has been set aside for other international travel and transportation expenses.

Further examination of the budget reveals that the anti-graft agency plans to spend N413m on procuring new vehicles. Additionally, N164.3m will be utilized to fuel the commission's cars. The budget allots N273.3m for fueling the generators and N156.8m for electricity charges.

With regards to sustenance, the EFCC has allocated N71.3m for meals and refreshments. The purchase of fittings and shelves for the headquarters and zonal commands will cost N413.7m. The maintenance of office buildings and residential quarters will require a budget of N352.1m.

It has been disclosed that N65.2m will be utilized for printing security documents, while N46m will be used for non-security document printing. Furthermore, the EFCC has allocated N44.1m for annual budget expenses and administration.

Insurance premium costs are estimated at N455m for the EFCC.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), another anti-graft agency, intends to spend N295.5m on welfare packages and N303m for purchasing vehicles. Cleaning and fumigation of its offices will amount to N55.7m, while N60.3m is allocated for fueling its vehicles during the period. The cost for generator fuel is estimated at N53.3m.

The NFIU has also allocated N23.2m for local training and N83.5m for local travel and transport. International training expenses are estimated at N92.8m.
